Here are some photos from Caitlin's second birthday party.  She has really begun to get interested in dolls, so "baby dolls" (as she called them) featured prominently among the gifts.  But she is also a big fan of fish (for some inexplicable reason), and thus Mommy got her a fish cake, which she continues to mention regularly, long after the event has passed.  Must have been a good cake!

On recent trip to Colorado, we visited some friends who had built a zipline for their son in the backyard.  Joshua was hesitant to try it at first, but once he did, he couldn't get enough.  Here's a short video:

Just before leaving New Hampshire, a member of one of our supporting churches generously put us up for a few days as we transitioned out of our apartment and got ready to fly to California.  For four year old Joshua, staying with "Uncle" Lloyd was particularly a treat as his house was filled with tractor memorabilia. Joshua loves tractors.  And best of all, there was a 1953 Ford Tractor housed in the garage which was on hand for plowing the driveway.  Lloyd was kind enough to give Joshua a ride on the tractor which just about made his day.  Here's a short video:

As part of Joshua's first romp in the winter snow this past December, we did what every child in a Northern climate should do: dig a cave/tunnel in the big pile of snow that the plows dumps at the end of the driveway.  It took some convincing to get him to go through it but it making it (and destroying it) was a great father/son activity.  Here's a short video:

This past December in New Hampshire, Joshua and Caitlin got the chance to experience snow for the first time. It was a big event in our house, as you'll see from the following video.

One of the neighbor children near the apartment we are renting in New Hampshire has a snazzy motorized ride-on jeep and Joshua was thrilled to get a turn at the wheel.
