Dear Friends & Family,

Merry Christmas! Thank you for your prayers for all of us. We are feeling strong and are working very hard with the Christmas outreaches and school programs scheduled for this month. Thank you also for the gifts and cards you have sent us.

Here in Thailand, Christmas is not a time for family gatherings and celebrations, but a time of vigorous outreaches. If you look at our calendar, we have 10 outreach events for this month. It takes quite a bit of time to prepare and organize these events, but we praise God for opening such opportunities and for providing people and resources for them to be possible. Please pray earnestly for us and for all our brothers and sisters in Thailand who are also doing numerous other outreaches. Pray that God would be pleased to use these outreaches to

proclaim the gospel clearly and accurately, even in spite of our human problems and failings.

One of the outreaches we have planned will take place in our neighborhood on Sat., Dec. 20th. In fact, it’s at a public community center across the street from our house. We hope to have about 100-150 people attend as we have games (for the children), a quiz, Christmas songs, and a message about what Christmas is all about. Of course, we will have some food and fellowship, too. We are hoping that significant conversations will take place between our brothers and sisters in Christ and those who don’t believe. Please pray with us for this to happen. We are hoping to give away the New Testament MP3 on CD with tracts and contact information on that day.

Please also make special mention in your prayers for the Christmas outreach in Nong Doan on Sat., Dec. 27th. Last Christmas, not many attended. So please pray that this Christmas many will attend and that God will change hearts. Karl is hoping to lead a team to do some evangelistic visits before that time so that people would be more aware of the Christmas outreach that evening.

While we are busy with the ministry, we are trying to establish some balance. With our first Christmas tree, we are having family devotions from the Advent Jesse Tree which centers around 25 events relating how God prepared his people for the birth of the Savior. Along with each daily devotion comes a symbol (wrapped up as a present) to be unwrapped and put on or around the tree. So far we have unwrapped a globe representing how God made the world, an apple representing the fruit eaten by Adam and Eve that brought sin into the world, a Noah’s ark ornament representing the story of God cleansing the world through the flood, just to name a few. Joshua is so excited to participate in these daily devotions, especially in opening the presents.

Language study has been put on hold as we focus on Christmas outreaches. Praise God that we had an intensive month in November to do some language study. Sun was able to finish two modules and get a strong start on a third. Karl was able to work on his tones and his writing.

Please continue to pray for us, for Thai believers, and for those who have yet to hear the gospel of the Christ of Christmas.  May the Holy Spirit work faith in the hearts of many (John 3:8).
